On a disused church at the bottom of School Brae in Portpatrick. Does anyone know for whom this church was built? The current kirk was built in 1842 and this one’s size and 1887 date don’t fit in with my knowledge of secessions.

Jusus & Mary Naturally Formed Statue

We found our "Sandstone Madonna" on Christmas day 1990. It is made of naturally formed sandstone and was just laying there in front of us in a dry riverbed where we randomly stopped between Ocotillo Wells and Borrego Springs, CA. during a rare family trip to visit grandparents on Christmas. Given the special date and event we’ve never doubted that it was a figurine of Mary & baby Jesus. The statuette is sitting on a stand that is also naturally formed stand and that we found, literally, just a few feet away from the statue. This picture has a ruler in it so that you can see the statue is about 4-1/2 inches tall.

automatically okay to use at worship time inside a sanctuary? Does the energy of every single Christian song really fit worship? To be more exact I am questioning the group Hill Song. They sing wonderful Christian songs, but is their high energy appropriate for inside the sanctuary?

Please note: This is not to knock lifting your hands in worship, and truly getting into the service. This is just about the energy of music as it relates to worship, but not just any worship the worship inside the sanctuary.
And for those of you who want to know I don’t like to hear those funeral marches inside a church either.

No. So many of those “high energy” songs are just Satan making a mockery of Christianity.

Every single Christian holiday in America has been transformed into some other event. The celebration of the birth of Jesus becomes the day Santa flys to your house and gives gifts. Easter (this one is very strange) becomes the day when a giant bunny rabbit lays colored eggs in your back yard. This is culturally fascinating. All of the other religions holidays are SACRED and everyone must recognize and respect quanza and all Jewish holidays. Yet christianities are transformed into some weird affair.

Can you imagine the outrage if people decided quanza was actually just the day that a giant squirrel flew around and dropped Hershey kisses? Historically how did this happen?
Every day in history could probably fall on a pagan holiday if you looked into it enough. Whether or not Jesus was born in December or in the spring is irrelevant. In MODERN culture these are the days we celebrate our religion. I simply find it culturally odd that the Christian holidays exclusively are tainted in america
